Blog Tagging Tomfoolery

The following is a Self imposed blog interview. I will also reveal the next author in this chain of blog tagging tomfoolery.

1)      What are you currently working on?

I have two big projects in the works. The first is a joint project with Edward Lorn, a novel titled, Port In a Storm.  It’s a sci-fi thriller that takes place in a distant future on a planet far from earth .The second is a webcomic named, Armor and Stone. It’s a fantasy story that I hope will have a good bit of humor injected into it. It’s still in its infancy, but I’m working hard to get it going in the next couple of months. I’ll delay the release if the quality is not satisfactory.
2)      How does your work differ from others in its genre?

I’ve partnered with a horror writer to create a story and world that is not horror. I think his style has allowed us to bring an interesting flavor to our story. We also have some rather unusual life forms. I can’t really go into details without giving away too much.

3)      Why do you write what you do?

I write what I want to read. It is my opinion that doing anything different is the road to fail. At least for me. I’m sure there are others that can write what they are told to write for the sake of getting it done, but not me. I do enjoy reading multiple genres as well as writing them so I have a wide margin to work within.

4)      How does your writing process work?

I am a pantser. I love sitting down to a blank page and letting the story and character unfold as I type. Having said that, I am now experimenting with some plotting. I’m using a beat sheet to give me a clear direction which allows me to speed up my writing process, or it has so far. Edward and I played with this a little and we managed to write more than twenty five thousand words between us in less than a week. As I have some goals I would like to see accomplished, I need to streamline my process as much as possible.

Next up is Ben Coleman.

Ben is the Author of the Carry the Colors Series, which I recommend you take a look at. The first book in the series, Heroes Among Men, is available on amazon and Ben’s Site.
